Light Project Pro International

Transforming Lives for the Better

LPPI is an educational charity operating in Islington, London that runs several community services in its accredited exam centre working with the joint council examining bodies offering GCSE’s and A Level in core studies and a wide range of languages. With users originating from 35 different countries, our aim is to improve the educational opportunities of local communities, focusing particularly on those at risk of being socially marginalised.

Free Support for Islington Job Seekers Aged 18-24

  • 1-to-1 mentoring
  • Support with CV & cover letters 
  • Job searches, applications & interviews
  • Skills building workshops

The aim of the 21st Century Workplace Skills programme is to support unemployed 18–24-year-old Islington residents, that are not in education or training, into sustainable paid work. The young person will have access to confidence boosting workshops such as teamwork and leadership, public speaking, problem-solving and conflict management. They will get one to one support throughout their journey from an employability mentor. In addition, they will receive help with creating CVs, covering letters and personal statements, job searching and preparing for interviews.

Adult Community Learning

Arabic Classes

We run a programme of Arabic language classes for children aged 5 to 16. 

Classes are from 5:00pm. to 7:00pm on Mondays and Thursdays during term time. 
The classes are for beginners and focus on everyday spoken and written Arabic.

Homework Club

Homework Club takes place on Saturdays during term time from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is for children between the ages of 5 and 16. Run by a large team of dedicated volunteers, children can bring in their school homework and receive additional help and support across maths, English, science, history and geography. We also run several fun and imaginative educational activities throughout the year such as poetry classes and arts and crafts and trips.

Food Bank

Wednesdays at 12noon
Open to residents from Laycock, Holloway, Caledonian and Barnsbury wards that are on UC.
Limited delivery available to those that are eligible.

Over 65’s Group

A chair yoga session - 10+ elderly people taking part in a sit-down exercise group.

Come along for a tea/coffee and a natter.
Tuesdays & Thursdays 2 to 4pm.

21CS IT Training

Since 2018, Peoples Place Community Partnerships (PPCP) have been working to support young people into employment through a flexible training and work experience programme. 21st Century Skills (21CS) is our tried and tested community-based employability solution targeting young people who are disadvantaged, with low qualifications, no network, unemployed or economically inactive.

Computer Suite

Well equipped computer suite with complete PC setups for up to 10 people. Perfect for IT training, computer-based workshops, and more!

Main Space

Sizeable open space, perfectly suited to large group activities and classes, or even seminars. Up to 40 chairs provided!
