We’re still buzzing from the success of our 2024 Black History Celebration! 🎉 We welcomed 120 visitors, 15 amazing volunteers, 12 Black-owned businesses, and 3 dedicated staff members to an unforgettable day. There were brilliant performances from 19 Homework Club students, soulful tunes from a community choir, powerful poetry, and mouthwatering dishes from 4 incredible chefs! 🎤✨🍲
The result? A joyful afternoon filled with music, laughter, and shared moments of connection that will stay with us until next year.
We were especially excited to launch the LPPI Inspiring the Community Award, which honours individuals with a meaningful connection to Islington. Our 2024 award winner is none other than Simbiatu Ajikawo (Little Simz). The award was accepted on her behalf by her mother, presented by our chairperson and founder, Cllr Michelline Ngongo.
